Statement for Braeview/Craigie and associated primaries

Papers will be taken to Children and families Service committee on the 27th January 2020 in relation to learning estate options for Braeview Academy and Craigie High School.

The proposal within this paper recommends elected members instruct the Executive Director of Children and Families Service to formally consult on the following proposal and report the outcomes in due course:

the closure of Braeview Academy and Craigie High School and the redelineation of existing school catchments to form a new single catchment area for a new joint secondary school/community learning campus from August 2024; and the expansion of the catchment area for Grove Academy from August 2024 to embrace the current Craigiebarns Primary School catchment area.

At this time, this is only a proposal and if agreed by committee, a period of consultation will be undertaken to seek stakeholder’s views. Following this a report with recommendations based upon feedback from this process will be taken back to committee later in the year.
